Happy Canada Day!

The twins and I have been fighting over the past few days. They are really making their mommy feel terrible. They are in for a stern talking to when they arrive! Hopefully the good start to today will continue and Canada Day will be nausea free!

Hope everyone has a Happy Canada Day!

Will I ever come down???

I have been waiting to come down from cloud nine, but it doesn't seem to be happening! I am slowly adjusting to the new reality of double stroller, double cribs, double diapers, double feedings (I have to stop there, as I can't get past that last one!!). Kayvan and I are ecstatic and truly can't believe the good news. As many of you know, my husband is always looking for a good deal. Well Jared said to him the other day, "Of course you managed to get two for the price of one!". It's true!

I had a really great week last week, with nausea that was quite tolerable. Unfortunately the last 3 days have been back to yuckiness. I constantly wear my Sea Bands! As well, I am pretty much out of all my pants, except Lulu's. I have only gained about 4 pounds, but apparently that is enough to change your pant size! I am all about the dresses now. Laura got me a fantastic dress from Lulu that ought to help me through this awkward stage. I read in a twin book today that I should gain 10 pounds by 10 weeks. That means I have 6 pounds to gain in the next week and a half...hello A&W!!!! I read that early weight gain is really important during twin pregnancies.

That is all for today. I will try and be more of a regular blogger.

Sorry for the delay!

To all my avid blog followers, I am so sorry I have left you high and dry! It has been a busy and rough few days. Nausea has hit an all-time high...desperately trying to be brave, but a few tears have fallen. It is very hard to feel so rotten when all you want to feel is happy. I am really looking forward to the 12 week mark!
Yesterday was Ali and Talaal's son, Cole's, 1st birthday party. What a spectacular event it was! A colossal bottle of champagne the size of Cole, a beautiful custom-made cake and a backyard full of beautiful children set the backdrop for a wonderful afternoon with friends! I can't begin to imagine how long the clean-up took you Ali! Thank you so much!
Today we celebrated fathers day by taking dad out for lunch. It was nice to be all together and the covered patio at Kelly's was the perfect way to enjoy the temperamental weather.
I got the results to my blood test on Friday and I am immune to Fifths Disease. This is great news! After much thought and a terrible weekend in terms of sickness I have decided to not go back to school for the last 4 days. It will be miserable for me and the kids. I will go in and see them on the last day though. I also plan to put together a slide show of all the pics I have taken of them this year. I am happy that I will at least get to give this to them and see them one last time. I have missed them!

Same Old

Still no word on the blood test results. I called today and they are still not in. I am getting too used to being off...I can't imagine going back now! Last 2 days have been very high on the sickly factor. Almost threw up at a red light yesterday! Eating is off...all I want is carbs and fruit. Kayvan had a beautiful steak on the BBQ tonight and I had beans on toast!! The nausea seems to clear at night which is great. Kayvan and I have gone for really nice hour long walks down by Mooney's Bay and Hogs Back the last two evenings. Finally getting a bit of exercises. Most pants are feeling pretty snug and my mom, a few friends and Kayvan's grandma all say that I am showing. How this is possible at 6 1/2 weeks is beyond me! I hope I am like Karen Hill and do most of my growing in the first trimester and cool it in the second and third because at this rate I will be a walrus in need of a wheelchair in the near future!!!

The Big Day!

Yesterday was Laura and Shane's wedding! I am so pleased to say that the day was absolutely perfect! Everything went off without a hitch, the backyard was straight from the pages of Martha Stewart Wedding and Laura, Shane and Jacob were absolutely stunning! They took a huge risk by having a backyard wedding in the middle of June, but they must have known the weather would cooperate! The temperature was perfect, cloud cover optimal and the mosquito were minimal. The pianist was the next Josh Groban in the making and he truly made the ceremony and the cocktail hours so special. The food was simple and elegant and tasted great and the frozen ice cream bars for dessert were the perfect touch! Everything was perfect! Jacob took everyone's breath away when he stood up to say a speech that he wrote. He delivered his remarkable words with poise, maturity and love. There was not a dry eye in the yard!! I was so very proud of him. He is indeed a very special young man. My sister took my breath away with her beauty. Her gown and her hair and her spectacular smile matched the magical setting perfectly!! Just a wonderful day! So wonderful that I completely forgot to feel nauseous!!
